On Saturday 4/24/10 Donna and I took a hike at Gunpowder Falls State Park; Sweet Air area, located along the border of Baltimore and Harford counties in Maryland. This 1,250 acre park is tucked away along country roads and is haven for horseback riders, mountain bikers and hikers. The 18 miles of trails range from easy to moderate and visits planted pine forests, fields of corn (this time of year just planted), grassy fields with hedgerows of raspberries and multiflora rose and the floodplains of the Little Gunpowder river.
On our hike, which I calculated to be around 6.5 miles we saw: cardinals, chickadees, crows, a kingfisher, squirrels, a ground hog and a 6 foot black snake.

Nice pictures -- in particular those of the "homilies" that seem to accompany key points on the trails.

You might want to consider including your flower shots in the wildflower thread on this forum; those are great shots of the spring beauties and the rue anemone.
