Trail Conditions: 6-8 inches of fresh soft snow on a firm base..Snow pole deep in spots off the trail. Overhanging branches making the trail narrow in spots. First brook crossing open but fine..the rest all had good snow bridges..
Trail for now packed out..section from the "view" to the top of chair had some snowboard/skier traffic today as well
Equipment: A snow shoe day and i put the extenders on for more flotation..worked well..poles a help on ascent.. Goretex a plus banging through snow laden branches..
Comments: Chinese New Year today made this an ideal reprise for 1/1/08 hike. Beautiful in the woods today..everything covered with snow..the trail a virgin carpet..Busted out trail on the ascent..met Hiker ed on the way down and trail is now well packed..
