Conditions: Boilerplate crust with snow dusting
Special Equipment: I used snowshoes, but maybe crampons would be OK as long as it's still solid. I brought full crampons but stayed with the snowshoes.
Comments: Nice day; decent views; decent snow bridges. I had a late start (3pm) and got out at 7pm as the sun set - very pretty! I had originally considered going down the backside (north) to increase the hike. When I got to the summit and started down the trail to the north, it was impossible. Although it hadn't been tracked (as expected, I guess) the trail is easy to see. But, the few hundred feet I went, I couldn't avoid breaking about every branch there was. That side it best left to the summertime when the snow is gone. So, I went back to the viewpoint (2500') and hiked back up to about 3500' for more of a hike.
