from road to 2nd brook crossing, mostly bare ground but a narrow monorail still intact. Brook crossings were manageable on the way up. full snow cover after second brook crossing, though, of course, shallow postholing off the sides of the 12" wide monorail. summit is bare, great views visible over ledge a few steps in front of the cairn.
Beautiful view of Franconia ridge from Sosman trail.
Descended via Express ski run, psyched out and exhibition terrain park. slopes were 60% snow covered.
equipment: Barebooted to 2nd brook and wore snowshoes afterwards, but stabilicers or medium traction would have been fine or better. barebooted down ski slopes to base.
