I have driven past The Barn, a classic AT hostel at the corner of Rt 2 and Rt 16 opposite the town common in Gorham a couple of times in the last few weeks and noticed that it is closed. I dont know if its a short term of long term thing but there is a closed sign on the barn door and the usual AT hostel signs are not displayed. I will check it out next weekend, but those planning to stay there may want to make alternate plans. I have corrected my Gorham 2008 update in the cheap sleeps thead but thought this deserved its own thread.
Alternatives are Hiker Paradise at the other end of town or the Hostel at White Birches campground in Shelbunre plus the many motels in town.
