I learned some interesting information recently from someone who has worked in sporting goods retail/wholesale for many years -

Apparently Grivel's pulling out of the US market recently has much less to with currency exchange rates and general business issues than I'd thought. The person told me Grivel was a manufacturer which didn't handle its own marketing and distribution. So, despite what you may read on Grivel North America's website, the real reason why Grivel products are in the retail channels at the moment is more due to mismanagement on the part of the distributor (Grivel NA) than with Grivel itself. In other words, Grivel North America is the distributor; Grivel is the manufacturer - two different entities.

The person expected to see Grivel products again available in the US and Canada, but didn't know when.
