To end up the year, I headed for the Kinsmans with a planned stay at Lonesome Lake hut for the night. Snow showers most of the day, lots of ice, I made it to junction of the Kinsman Ridge trail before putting on microspikes. Tried my darndest to make the FJ trail fun but once again that trail ate me up, mentally (up and down). Saw quite a few groups out on the trails, last group between N & S seemed to have a lot of familiar VFTT faces but I couldn't place them. Back to the hut just as it was getting dark, nothing like coming in and plopping down in front of a hot woodstove! Nice night amongst the other hut folks. Had planned on hitting Cannon in the morning but awoke to rain, lets see, I can hike 4-5 hours in the rain to knock off a winter 4k or hike down for less than an hour in the rain. One of my favorite spots on this hike, I call it the Moss corridor
