Over the year, I noticed that I have several different pics of Smarts Mtn, a very prominent peak in the Lyme area. Since I am sick, and swimming in my own yack, I figured I'd do something a little different....don't worry, I cleaned my lap top first.

Smarts from along the moose mtn ridge, not along the AT

Its not the most beautiful mountain in the world. but it has always intrigued me. There are other trails I'd like to explore sometime, maybe next spring!

Happy New Yr!

nice report! We call it, "Hook Mountain" because of the long sloping curve on the side. It is SO distinctive - you can see it from places above Newfound Lake also. Really cool walking along the AT nearby and seeing it from the ledgy sections all along the way.... I admire it, too!!!!

Thanks for the pics... it's on a short list of ours as we haven't hike it yet.

awesome pics. Smarts was my 'home mountain' for the last 6 years when I lived 10 mins away in VT. In fact I did all my weight training for Rainier on that guy so I know him well! A fun mountain that feels a lot bigger than its elevation suggests, thanks for posting
