Trails: Polecat Ski Tr. and the Wildcat Ridge Trail.

The Ski Tr. was groomed and firm this morning which made for easy climbing. I wore my micro spikes to the summit of "D" with no problems. Starting over the ridge I switched to Crampons. The ridge had a dusting of new snow over mostly boiler plate conditions. Spikes may have worked but it was slowing me down. Crampons worked much better.

The ridge trail all the way to "A" was in good shape with no blow downs, only the hanging branches thing. The ridge trail stayed firm all morning and only started to soften up in the sunny areas. I wore the crampons all the way back and about 3/4 of the way back down the ski slope before putting my snow shoes on because of the soft mash potato snow.

Met "Sunshine Chris" on the way up to "D". Nice talking and hiking up with her. That was her turn around, so I didn't see any other hikers today. But lots of skiers on the slopes. Nice beautiful, sunny, warm, day with no wind at all.

I was surprised that more people weren't out on the ridge today.
