This is a mini walk snowshoe from the Valley Woods Road trailhead in Bolton Landing. The trail is in great shape, well packed and no post holes.I snowshoed the trail however ran into two couples who were skiing the trail. There is some extra interest in this area since it was the cover story of the most recent Adirondack Explorer.
I only did Thomas Mountain up and back, but Cat Mountain is right near by if you have the time and inclination as the trail continuations lead to Cat Mountain.
I had to park on the shoulder of Valley Woods Road as the parking area is not plowed sufficiently, and if you parked in there you might not be able to get out.
