I have a very old print with a view of what is described in the print as the Franconia Range, and it lists the Three Graces as near Cannon Mountain, but I can't find ANYTHING on the web about them? Anyone know what these mountains are now called or where they are? Thanks.

The Charites

The three Graces - Charites in classical Greek - were Aglaea (Radiance), Euphrosyne (Joy) and Thalia (Flowering), according to Hesiod, the ancient shepherd-poet who has left their oldest surviving description. They were usually depicted as three naked women and did not have much of a mythology (stories just about them).

I hadn't heard the term applied the Whites but might have guessed the Carters, just from the name. Any three bare peaks in proximity might do, however.
