Thanks for the info I just might look into doing this in my home state (R.I.).

I was on a hiking trail last night and saw some AMC volunteers working. They were repainting the blazes all along the trail. I walked up to them and thanked them for their work. Perhaps there are some problems at the Administration and Managerial levels at the AMC but I think the people who work on the trail crews deserve to be thanked for volunteering their efforts so that hikers may enjoy the trails in a safe manner.
