Conditions: From Highland Center Avalon trail is well broken out, A-Z trail and Tom spur are now broken out, Willey Range Trail to Field and Avalon trail back down to junction with A-Z trail are also now broken out.
Equipment: Snowshoes used all day, a bit windy on the ridge and summits enough for wind protection.
Comments: Was quite the experience breaking trail in such deep, fresh snow conditions. Had help from two hikers from Maine from the A-Z/Avalon junction to summit of Tom. Was on my own for Field down to Avalon until I found the previous posters tracks, which as he said, had been significantly filled in with drifting snow. Snow depths were amazing breaking trail today.
Somwhere on the trail from Mt Avalon down to Highland center I lost a mismatched pair of trekking poles, one Leki and one EMS, if by some slim chance someone reads this post and then finds my poles, perhaps they could post a found thread on this forum as I check it frequently, thank you, Matthew Roberts.
