Trail Conditions: nicely packed trails with 1-2 inches of fresh powder, which was perfect for snowshoeing. Trail held up well during the day.
Recommended Equipment: snowshoes, although we noticed some folks barebooting and ones with light traction. Full winter gear was essential today. We all had face protection, too.
Comments: A nice hike with some views, especially from Avalon and the open area on the Avalon Trail nearby. Lots of snow up there! Very cold and windy up high. We saw nobody until the Tom Spur. Saw several people when descending the Avalon Trail.
Always great to hike with my pals Rols and Tuco!
