I'm working on a little planning for a couple weeks out and am concerned about the condition of one particular trail.

Does anybody have recent experience on the Lend-A-Hand Trail?

I'm interested in learning its general condition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Earl

Haven't been on it recently, but it's an extremely gentle trail that gets plenty of use all year round. Not one whose condition I'd worry about. Might have a bit of a monorail and/or some muddy spots this time of year, but so will most trails.

By conditions - do you mean the snow/mud level on the trail? I have a good friend who is the trail-maintainer for the Lend-A-Hand, and takes great pride in keeping it brushed-out, so that shouldn't be an issue. (We kid him by referring to it as the "Lend-A-Hand Ski Trail".)

Strictly guessing (I did it several years ago on Memorial Day weekend after a big snow Winter/Spring & it ran the gamut, dry low, wet & muddy in the middle & up high snow. (I got there early in AM so snow was hard)

Barring any extended period of abnormal warm weather, I'd expect about the same based on what I had on Avalon trail in late Apri. I'm hoping for abnormally warm weather though so my first option on 5/24 makes sense.

Hi Kevin,

Yes, I am interested in the snow & mud condition.

I am experienced with the trail having hiked it multiple times. I realize it has a generally southern exposure which may mean the snow is well melted. But, there are a couple mud pits that may be a difficult.

I was looking for trip reports that discussed the trail but there are no recent posts.

Thanks,
Earl
