Trap Dike 7/19/04

Will be doing Colden via the Trap Dike on Monday (weather permitting) with my 16 year old nephew. Plan to leave South Meadow around 7:00 (maybe 7:30). If you see a tall skinny kid carrying an old crone, say howdy! It's been about 25 years since I last did the dike - can't wait.

With a wet forecast for the weekend, there might be some water in there. That did me in last year in my attempt. It's better to play it safe. By all means, check it out. A day spent in the woods and having to turn back, is better than any day at work.

Yeah, we'll definitely have a backup plan. We'll play it by ear. The last forecast I saw for Monday looked good, so even if the dike is out we'll do something.

Postponed

NOAA said 2 - 4 inches of rain in Ray Brook yesterday and potentially another 1 - 2 today. Decided to come to work and try again when it's a little dryer (next summer, maybe?).
