Conditions- Typical conditions to Avalanche Lake. Herd path to the Dike easy to follow. I haven't been in the Dike before, but it seemed really dry to me I never felt like it got too slippery. All waterfalls just trickling. Took the last herd path right before it gets real brushy and it was perfect. Went by it at first and had to backtrack. There are three rocks at the start of the herd path (def wouldn't call it a cairn, but someone def put them there on purpose). Slide was all good with rock shoes and then the boring slog back to the Loj.
Special Equipment Required: We used rock shoes for the slide and found them very helpful, but definately not required.
