The plan was for a double starting in Crawford and ending in Crawford. But lost steam between Jefferson and Adams, so bailed down to Appalachia.
Started on Crawford Path at 2:20 AM by headlamp. Trail in great shape with only a little water in spots. High and Dry above treeline. Pretty steady wind all day kept the bugs to a minimum. Sun was bright but temps were cool. Very comfortable day to be above the trees. Descended Watson Path to Valley Way. Watson was mostly dry and river crossing was not a problem. Valley had some mud in spots but nothing that created a problem.
Thanks to a very generous man for giving us a ride back to the Highland Center.
Definitely suggest long sleeves and hat or sunblock.
