we hiked in on the livermore rd and did the tripyramid loop in a clockwise direction. i used microspikes until we got to the north slide where i put on crampons. J used hillsounds all day. the slide was a mix of soft powder surface for a few inches with a crust below, and hard, windpacked, icy snow. we were both able to kick steps up most of it but there were several spots where it was too hard to break through easily. ice axes were necessary on both slides. there was a lot of powder with snow snow drifts across the summit ridge. some good glissading down the south side but take caution, lots of exposed rocks. overall both slides were in great shape to climb.
