Mt. Tripyramid Trail up to and up South Slide was generally dry and free of blowdowns. Crossings were fine. Above the slide and around to the Scaur Ridge Trail, there was some snow and ice which could be avoided with some care. Scaur Ridge Trail was dry and in great shape but for one major blowdown.
One of us wore Stabilicers above South Slide while the other two scurvy dogs, to remain unnamed, resorted to cowardly tree-pulling to get down the snow/ice-patched steeps. Mike took his Stabilicers off at the top of the Scaur Ridge Trail.
This was one of the last shorts/T-shirt days with a warm wind and nice sunshine. Scaur Ridge Trail was beautiful, with a blanket of leaves picking up the soft afternoon light in the open hardwoods.
