Tripyramids(N & M) via Livermore, Scaur, Pine Bend & Tripyramid tr 5/29/08
Trails in fine shape until snow began on steep section up N Tripyramid. Icy sections were either possible to avoid or to ascend using the trees. This was my first hike without carrying snowshoes or crampons so I worried about the descent, even considered go over South Peak. Turned out not to be a problem. Poles were essential as were the tree branches when it was not possible to avoid the ice. A few blowdowns but they caused no problems. Section between peaks mostly dry & snow free. A beautiful hike along the Scaur trail as the new leaves are bursting out.
