Semi-loop with car spot via Pine Bend Brook, Mount Tripyramid, Kate Sleeper, Rollins, Square Ledge, Oliverian Brook trails. Summits of N,M,S Tripyramid, W. Sleeper (bushwhack), E Sleeper, Whiteface ledges and peak, Passaconaway.
Trail Conditions: Most trails in good shape, with a few exceptions. Several blowdowns easily stepped over, under, or walked around on Mt Tripyramid trail, Kate Sleeper trail, and Square Ledge trail. Less used Kate Sleeper trail had at least one large blowdown with a herd path around. Parts of Square Ledge trail need some brushing, as the bushes are crowding in. Lots of rough loose-rock scrambling on other trails, but on par with guide book descriptions.
Special Equipment Required: Lots and lots of water. No water found for large portion of the middle of the loop. Bugs were bearable in the lowlands, fairly bug-free on the ridges.
Comments: Wanted to hike a few trails I had never been on; Pine Bend Brook, and the bulk of the Kate Sleeper trail, so I came up with this route, also hitting a few peaks along the way. Nice day to be out, but a bit hot. Not too many hikers out there - saw only 3 the entire day.
