just a FYI in case - Thought I would pass this on

as many know - the MW observatory typically posts a link from their page - but its still reading last may - (i was kind of thinking they would have said something by now so checked tuckerman.org) and bingo:

tuckerman.org has the most recent advisory - updated yesterday.

heard through the vine that pinnacle gully was climbed last weekend (probably multiple times by now) - now I am convinced that winter is comin' :) :D
 
Noticed in the report a mention of someone breaking their leg while glissading with crampons on. I guess it's not intuitive that's a dangerous practice as it happens frequently.

You'd think the photos of the guy with the ice axe sticking through his belly from a few years ago would have convinced people that this was a bad idea (tm). But it still happens every year like clockwork.

yea - not sure why folks do it. its not just a NE thing either. I think many think - oh I am not going too far, or its too much of a pain to take them off - and then they get stuck....
