How about a VFTT Tuckerman Ravine trip? We could do it the weekend of April 15-16 or the same weekend as the Tuckerman Inferno, which is April 21-23. The Inferno might add to the excitement, but it could also make it harder for us to find a place to camp and Tuckermans is nuts during the event.

Let me know if you are interested and which weekend you think is better.

Easter? I will buy a Moat Mountain pulled pork sandwich for the first person that goes over the lip in a bunny costume.

:)

ps: good point though. would anyone miss it because of Easter? If people want to avoid Easter and the Inferno, then I guess the last weekend of April (29-30) is ok.

I was planning something in the great gulf on easter weekend - but I could easily be swayed to join this - I don't ski, but nobody has to twist my arm to head into the gullies in april. :)

Ok, so it looks like Easter vs. AMC nite vs Inferno. I doubt we would get any of the lean-to the weekend of the Inferno. I'm guessing that we would have to camp elsewhere and then hike in both days. Depending on how many of us there are might determine that anyway.

Carmel might be out of town and might miss it if it is the weekend of the Inferno. I know that might sway people's decisions, so I am throwing the info out there. :D

We went climbing one of the walls in Tucks the weekend of the inferno last year and it was nuts. We didn't get to Hermit Lake Shelters until 2AM only to find them full, tents in the woods, and even one guy that dug a snow cave. We racked out next to a lean-to in our bivy sacks and awoke around 7AM the next morning to throngs of people about. As were were climbing the the gully wall we occasionally had to quickly duck to one side (which is difficult with crampons and ice axes) to avoid the insane skiiers freefalling past us. Topless women skiing in only their underwear (I have pics), a keg, and about 2,000 people made for an incredible day.

I'd love to ski Tucks, but alas I'll be at a friend's wedding on April 29th. If it's the weekend of the 15th, though, I can probably make it!

I have a ski friend from Portland, Oregon, visiting the weekend of the 29th, who I am sure would be delighted to visit Tucks.....could be getting late for decent skiing this year, at least the Lip, etc.

Easter or not, if you pair this with a Cathedral Ledge Lager you may have a deal!

Just back from a week in Death Valley. This sounds good to me. I am free either weekend.

i will cast my vote for easter weekend - folks can get get early exit sunday and be home for dinner - right.

I don't ski - so not sure how much my vote counts - but if anyone wants to climb something in huntington (or tuckerman for that matter) and then join the fun at night - pm me and we can hook up.

I was going to head into the great gulf this weekend - but this sounds like to much fun to pass up.

Okay, let's do it easter weekend, then !!! I likely won't ski Tuckermans BUT last year a few of us had a BALL practicing self arrest and some climbing over steep ice left of Hillman's Highway . . . maybe a bunch of us can do that this year, always fun to practice mountaineering skills. :) Also, we can sit up there and watch the skiers.

I won't be skiing either. I'll just be taking pictures. I hope to borrow a 400mm lens so I can get some shots better than this one.

LawnSale...ahhhhh yes......topless women skiing Tux. I might just have some photos of that too.
