A few shots from a fairly recent (Memorial weekend) backpack over the Bonds to the Guyot shelter and tent sites.

Our itinerary:

  • Saturday 5/26 - from Lincoln woods to Guyot; sunset from W. Bond
  • Sunday 5/27 - our group of nine (plus one doggie) split into two parties. One took in the twins; my group took in the fine views from Zealand, hiked past the Zealand hut and through Zealand Notch to Thoreau Falls for a swim, then we climbed up the steep Zeacliff Trail back up to the Twinway which we took back to Guyot.
  • Memorial Day 5/28 - from Guyot back to Lincoln Woods; swam at Franconia Falls.

That's awesome. I was up there at the same time. In fact, in two of your sunset photos on West Bond there is a guy with a blue jacket and greenish hat. That's "Bullethead" Don who was who I hiked to the west peak with -- an aquaintance -- I was just on the other side of him. Looks like your trip was an as enjoyable as my own. Gorgeous photos.

Great pics! Looks like you had a great time!

Certainly must have been a full house at Guyot that weekend. I did an out and back to Bond from Zealand TH that Saturday. I ran into one lady who was meeting 10 friends at Guyot and there was just an endless stream of folks on Bondcliff and Twinway headed that way, most asking how much further. After a murky start, the day did turn out to be a great viewing day. Great shots!!! Wish I had been there for the sunset, looked beautiful, but was well on my home by then.
