If you haven't checked out Whiteblaze, their gear forums section has all kinds of opinions on ultralight tents. Here is one thread. Whiteblaze - tarp tents
There are many, many threads on this, primarily from long distance hikers.
FWIW, I would certainly lean toward one of the Henry Shires Tarptents if I was in the buying mode. There have been so many positive reviews that I would feel very comfortable in buying one.
