Trail Conditions: Overall, the trail is in good shape. There are some occasional muddy sections, and a section where lush fern growth has considerably narrowed the trail corridor. But, with the wet weather we’ve been having, these conditions are true for many trails in the Whites this year.
Comments: A group of 5 happy trekkers went up the Unknown Pond Trail to just hang out in the vicinity of the pond and simply enjoy the great outdoors and the camaraderie.
The view of The Horn perched over Unknown Pond is always rewarding, plus the open forest along the trail makes for a very pleasant hike. And, it’s always a shorter drive than one imagines to travel to this and other trailheads in the vicinity of Stark, NH (like Unknown Pond, Percy Peaks, etc.)
A short set of 4 photos from this trek are HERE.
