Went up by north side trail to Johns Brook Lodge and on to summit. Went back down using south side trail.
A few blow downs, patches of snow with a couple postholings and slipery spots. Ore bed brook easy to cross in morning. Johns Brook at the limit of rock hoping in late afternoon.
Special equipment: none, boots & gaitors. We carried our crampons but never put them on. Winter gear can be stored until late november.
Nice hike; nice day: not cold, not warm, no bugs, trail relatively dry; very nice view from the top. 10 hours including very long breaks at JBL & at summit.
