Hi All,

I'm trying to plan a ski trip to Northern VT sometime in mid-late March. I've never skiied any of the resorts up there and would like some info from anyone that's willing...

I'm tentatively planning on staying near Burlington and making day trips to Stowe and/or Jay and/or whatever other resorts are nearby. Mad River Glen is out since I'll be with my kids who are boarders.

How has the snow been in this area this year ? Typical/Above Agerage/Below Average ? What can I expect for late March -- decent coverage still ? When do these resorts typically close for the year ?

My plans may end up find me doing this over Easter Weekend(3/25-3/27) -- will these resorts be a zoo on this holiday weekend ? Or is it late enough in the year that it will pretty quiet ?

Thanks in advance...

Bob

I'm pretty familiar with skiing at Stowe in late March.

First of all, this year has probably been below normal for snow, but right now just about every trail there is open and March is usually a good month for snow.

Conditions vary, but there should be plenty of snow left on Mt. Mansfield, but Spruce Peak may not have much open because it faces the south.

Stowe always has a sunrise religious service on the mountain on Easter Sunday. Crowds should be light.
