Hi All, considering Killington from west side this weekend, are there any mud season statements out in vermont? I know i've seen postings in the past years when the LT, Green Mtn Club, etc request limited trail use during mud season. Just wondering if anyone has been in the area lately. Also looking at Mansfield for next weekend so any beta there is welcome too. Thanks, ctsparrow - sue

FYI:

From the GMC site:

The State of Vermont closes all trails on state land including those on Camel's Hump and Mount Mansfield from mid-April until Memorial Day weekend. Please do not hike in these fragile areas.
Also avoid: Stratton Mountain, Killington Peak, Lincoln Ridge (Mount Ellen to Appalachian Gap), Jay Peak.

Mendon yesterday was pretty wet and mucky in places. Dorset had a little muck on top--but bear in mind both of those are unmaintained and don't have any drainage. Stratton and Equinox were almost completely dry on Friday. I guess the upshot for now is stay south of 11. (More details in trail conditions later today.)
