Signal Ridge Trail to Carrigain Notch Trail to Herd Path/Bushwhack
RT - 5.5 hours
Located the "big rock" on the Carrigain Notch Trail without difficulty and dove into the woods onto the herd path just around the corner from said rock. Path led in short order to a rocky drainage and this led to a fairly obvious herd path somewhere around 3K or so elevation. Once on this path, it was pretty hard to lose. Took you through the talus field and to the left of a cliffy area and finally to the summit. One or two areas of blowdown, where a little investigation as to the direction of the path was required. But nothing compared to my Scar Ridge hike last week.
Eight NEHH peaks to go. All in Maine.
