Has anyone ever considered contacting the USGS and asking them if "Vose Spur" can be changed to "Nose Spur"? Even though I realize that Prof. Vose was a valuable historical artifact, I think Vose Spur is an awful name. It just doesn't roll off the tongue and it doesn't make me want to go there with such an ugly name. I guess what I'm trying to say is that starting a peak name with the letter "V" is ridiculous. Nose Spur rings a bell and makes more sense because the peak itself looks like a nose coming off Carrigain while the scars on Lowell look like a mouth.

Just thought I'd put that out there.

I'm going to submit the paperwork this weekend. When the name gets changed I'll let everyone know.

why not call it Vose Nose then?

It rolls off the tongue must better, would be descriptive and still honors the "valuable historical artifact".

it rhymes too. always a bonus.

No, a Vose sounds like something you'd find in your car or some kind of musical instrument that a cow would go to the bathroom on.

Nose Spur is the name I'm suggesting.
