Star King Trail is snow free until approx 3100 feet. Trail to summit of Star King is barebootable with patches of dry here and there, we used microspikes. Snowshoes would be helpful in col between Star King and Wambuek -- keep to the left to stay on trail, lots of moose trails leading off to the right.
