Hiked up Ammonoosuc with many other groups who were either headed to Washington or Monroe. Truly amazing how many people we saw throughout the day, from a group of 8 hiking up the cog rail looking for Jewell, a group of 6 all dressed alike in Marmot coats, a girl of perhaps 8 with her mom or sister, several snowboarders on the summit, a group heading up Monroe by not using the trail, two young ladies traveling from Pinkham over Washington, Monroe, Eisenhower and Pierce (tell me what time you made it out), to a hiker with a blown out knee or ankle needing help on the way down (I hope all is well), and many others.
Washington was very doable with calm wind and reasobale temps even with a late start...all trails in good shape, no shoes needed but micro-spikes helpful and crampons certainly a good choice withe steeper climbs.
Another great day.
