Date of Hike: Thur. 10-29-09
Trails: Ammonoosuc Ravine, Crawford Path, Gulfside, and Jewell Trails.
Started on the Ammo Trail. One whack around blow down between the Cog Station and the first trail jct. from the hikers lot. Ammo was all clear with some icy rocks to the hut. I wore my micro-spikes near the top section where it opens up over the ledges. Crawford Path mainly dry with some icy rocks now and then. Gulfside to Jefferson was dry with no ice. Jewell was dry with no ice.
There was an undercast today with the everything above 4500 ft. in beautiful sunshine. With the sun out and hardly any wind at all, it felt quite warm. Could have hiked in shorts and shirtsleeves today. The sun has melted all the ice and dried out the rocks. Tomorrow should be a good day up there.
Saw two other hikers today, one being a through hiker heading north. Good luck.
