Date of Hike: Wed. Nov. 3, 2010

Trails: Jewell Trail, Gulfside Trail, Crawford Path.

Conditions: Trace snow down low to a foot on the Range from Washington to Eisenhower. Deeper knee deep drifts in places. Not too much ice to worry about.

Special Equipment: Full winter gear. We wore spikes the whole day. We carried Crampons, but they stayed in our packs. Snowshoes would have worked well today only on the ridge.

Comments: Excellent day for a Presi Traverse. Mild temps and very little wind with bright sunshine. The traverse was made more difficult due to the snow. One had to be careful where one placed their feet so as not to step into hidden holes. It made for very slow going. Hiked with a great group today and saw a few familiar faces along the way.
