Trial conditions : Ammonousoc pretty muddy in spots..first brook crossing above the parking lot required wet feet...above the Gem Pool steep and steady..much water in all the brooks though ledges were mostly dry..From Lakes to summit fine and Jewell trail in excellent shape with very little mud
Equipment: summer stuff..sunscreen...cool sunglasses..hat...water..poles a big help on the ascent
Comments: I don't hike much on weekends so I am not used to seeing so many hikers...amazing how many people on the trail today..above treeline..with a water bottle stuck in their blue jeans pocket..cotton tee shirts..no pack no nothing....oh well, at least they are out there..
glorious day on this Seek the Peak saturday after so many rainy and cloudy days..views into the Great Gulf and towards Adams and Madison particularly fine..enjoyed chatting a bit with Kevan Judy and Emma on the summit...
Awesome day for a great cause..
It was ironic that the after hike dinner for the Observatory was catered by the closest restaurant to where i live down in Meredith..somehow the turkey tasted better up in the mountains....
