Date of Hike: 11/2/08
Trail Conditions: The Dirrettissima has a couple of blow downs but otherwise clear of ice and snow. The Glenn Boulder was surprising dry, I rock hopped up to the spruce patch. As usual 4-6” of accumulated snow in the spruce but there after up to the Davis Path was clear. Up and past Boot Spur was pleasant going with all rock voids filled with firm rime. The lawn cut-off was wind swept and tedious going with a biting wind. The summit cone was out of the wind and easy going.
The flats above lions head were a skating rink but rock hop-able. Descending the summer route was very icy and tedious with an overnight pack. Ice continued half way down the Tucks trail.
Special Equipment Required: Traction aid required for the lions head. Met a couple of groups that went up the headwall and they indicated dry conditions with no snow. Falling rock was a constant hazard however.
Comments: Another wicked nice day on Washington. A little too warm for my likin but lots of folks out enjoying the deep blue skies, light wind and mild temps.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
