Had Washington almost entirely to myself today, at least the Lions Head winter route. Tuckerman trail is in great shape as well as Lions Head. On my way down some hikers mentioned they were going to take boot spur on their way down. I decided I would make that choice as well. Everything was wonderful until we got to the tree line and could find no trail. We had all been on Boot Spur before and found no signs of a trail head. We ended up having to bushwack down to the ski trail, which would have been more fun if it had been part of the plan.
