trails: starr king trail
conditions: access road a bit rough just before the trailhead, but fine if you drive slowly. trail was well maintained though quite wet today with some mud particularly on the ridge. wet rock was slippery at times. leaves beginning to fall and obscuring the footbed in places.
equipment: nothing in particular.
comments: good day for this hike. a bit cold and wet, especially on the ridge, but was generally comfortable hiking. first hike of a couple today. great pizza at the nearby store for in between. thanks to cynthia.
