Date of Hike: 2016-02-20
Trail Conditions: Hiked after snow storm. 4-6" sticky snow over hard ice the whole way. Trail packed, but not enough snow to cover ice.
Special Equipment Required: used hillsounds, then moved to snowshoes for middle, then hillsounds higher because snowshoes would not grab.
Comments: but would ball up, moved to snowshoes but would not grip hard ice. Very dangerous conditions on the way down, major balling giving no traction and everyone was sliding and falling. I would recommend crampons with anti-balling. After the rain, this could all have changed.
