The Webster-Jackson Trail was quite wet and muddy in places from the intermittent showers. The stream crossings presented no problems today even with the rain. There were no blowdowns of any concern. There is so little snow on the Webster-Jackson, Jackson fork and Webster fork that I would consider it snow free. However the trail between Mt. Jackson to Mt. Webster does has some large snow patches and we did posthole a couple of times up to our knees but it was not a problem; even for our three novice hikers.

The descent from Mt. Jackson to the col towards Mt. Webster was very slippery. The rock ledges were very slick. Everybody took their time and we had no issues.

Three guys today made it up to their first 4,000 footer. Too bad there was not a view but they were entertained by feeding the gray jays on top of Mt. Jackson.
