Backpacked up Webster Cliff Trail on Saturday (11/8) to Nauman tentsite (next to Mizpah Hut, which is closed for now, yay!) Misty with times of light drizzle. Rock wet but not too bad, except lower down where there were rotting leaves over the rock. Used boots and single Leki staff.
Spent pleasant drizzly night at Nauman (one other group was there) and headed out this morning in a light snow. Hit Jackson summit about 9:30 and there was a hard wind, the snow was sticking in the crevices in the granite. Had Kahtoolas in my pack but decided to go down Webster-Jackson Trail instead of dealing with the cliffs again in the snow and wind. An easy bareboot. What a pretty trail!
Conditions are going to change every half day now. Weather report suggested today wd be milder, but I packed the Kahtoolas anyway, and would probably have freaked out climbing Jackson if I hadn't had them, even tho' I didn't finally use them. Be prepared, stay safe!
