Trail from route 9 to the first bog in the Niagara brook valley is well broken. First stream crossing can be done with care if cold temps hold up. Group of four spent four days whacking around on Camel Mt. and the knob to the east of Macomb. 8" of unconsolidated snow on a very supportive crust. Spruce traps totally absent at the higher elevations. Ski and snowshoe tracks from the bog and beyond are probably blown in by now. We pulled fully loaded sleds from the bog to route 9 on Tues. the 24th making what would be an awesome ski trip to a beautiful wilderness valley. Views of East Dix, South Dix, Wyman and Camel Mountain from the bog make this a worthwhile relatively easy ski trip. Approx. 6 to 7 miles round trip. Buddy
