https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sre...8657&authkey=Gv1sRgCLyh8PGBvbiflgE&feat=emailhttps://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sred...lgE&feat=emailWe started out on the western terminus of the Devil's path. Some ice underneath from the recent powder that fell Friday. Some Coyote and Deer tracks down low.Once past the turn to the east at the beaver pond there was more ice under the powder. At this point we put on micro spikes which remained on for the rest of the day.We carried crampons and were ready to use them if need be.A couple of places that would have been the way to gne more snow event and snowshoes would be necessary . One man along the rt. on our way back was wearing them.and 4 other people were not.Once on St. Anne's we reached the high point of the mountain and then continued on our way to Westkill for Linda's 24/35 Winter 3500 ' peak ascent.Westkill also had a few tricky sections but that's part of the fun of Winter hiking. It was quite cold today and the camera was malfunctioning ,but I did manage to get a few pictures.11 more to go for Linda !Here are a few pictures.Located at the top.
