I arose (dog alarm clock) at 4 AM, looked out at the mountains and liked what I saw. Went out with the dog to pee and, wow no wind. I Flew from frost heave to frost heave over Rte 118 through Woodstock to Lafayette Place by 6:45. Two cold cars, one warm one in the lot. Put on crampons at the agony with the chimney and cruised to the hut. Met three guys cooking breakfast near their tent by the hut. Got passed by a trailrunner going up. Young guy, so I didn't mind being passed. Kept the spikes on until the summit of Laffy. Sat on top of Laffy for about 30 minutes. Met a guy about my age coming from the Frozen Waters Trail. Got my rear in gear and skipped over the ridge where I passed maybe six others going the other way.
Swiss Bobbed down F Waters. There are some spots where you could really damage yourself at the beginning, going down. Sliding was very hampered cause I now was meeting all the people heading up. Seems like every time I sat on the sled someone would appear on the trail below me. In conclusion, I had the whole ridge nearly to myself on this beautifully clear day. Had a nice discussion with BEUCS about Custom versus Machine made Limmers. Nice to meet some VFTTers on the trail. :)

Carried my 30" Sherpas, never put them on. No postholing at all. No crampons from Laffy across Ridge and down to Pkg Lot

PS The Lincoln Slides look very skiiable still. But not by me

Hmmmmm.....

Sounds like you had a good trip. Do I know you from somewhere?

I was across the valley at Cannon and almost wished I was hiking instead of skiing. What a perfect day! Not a breath of wind, except when I was playing catch the same tram car all morning. Even hiked the ridge to Mittersill and sat in the sun for a while. Maybe you're in this picture from today...
