Date of Hike: Mon. 12-07-09
Trails: Blueberry Ledge, Rollins, Dicey's Mill Trail.
Conditions: About 1" of snow down low and about 3" of snow across the Rollins Trail to about 4" on Passaconaway summit. Lots of ice hidden under the new snow. The Ledge scrambles on Blueberry ledge were tricky in spots. We wore micro spikes most of the way and they worked fine. Crampons on the ledges would have not been an overkill. We had them but kept our spikes on. Snowshoes not needed today. Stream crossing was no problem.
Cleared about a dozen or better blow-downs in various locations.
No wind today which made the air temp feel mild.
Great hike with Bill, Vinny, and Chris today. We had the trails to ourselves today.
