Trails: Blueberry Ledge, Rollins, Dicey's Mill
The Blueberry Ledge trail is in great condition. It's obvious that much work has been done on this trail. It's very impressive. The ledges today were dry with very good traction. There were no blowdowns at all on this trail.
The Rollins trail was also in good condition and basically clear of obstructions.
The Dicey's Mill trail is also in very good condition with no new blowdowns. There are some old ones especially between the farm and the stream crossing.
The stream crossing on Dicey's Mill was very easy today as the water is very low.
From the dogie standpoint there was no water at all, not even a small puddle on the Blueberry Ledge and Rollins trail. Bring water for your dog. There is some water on the Dicey's Mill trail between the Rollins trail and the Passaconaway summit. Below Rollins there is no water until you reach the stream. That's about it. There are significant ledges on the Blueberry Ledge trail. Some dogs will love them. If your dog doesn't like ledges this might not be the trail of choice.
When we got back to the car we found cars parked all the way out to Ferncroft. I didn't see anywhere near as many people on the trails as there were cars in the parking lot.
The views today were very limited. The combination of heat and humidity made for a steam bath today. Despite drinking a lot, I still lost about five pounds on this hike.
