Date of Hike: 4/17/2016
Trail Conditions: Went up Blueberry Ledge Cutoff to Blueberry Ledge trail. Mostly ice free, but patches of ice showed up eventually. Spikes went on. Ledges were mostly ice free, but what ice was there was soft and we got good purchase. Harder ice on Rollins Trail to Passaconaway, but everything was still negotiable with spikes. Took the west branch up to Passaconaway summit and back down. Descended via Dicey's Mill trail, ice ran out eventually and trail was 95% dry. Just fantastic.
Special equipment: spikes, poles could be helpful, crampons not needed to due softer ice, but a refreeze would necessitate crampons.
Talked to someone who tried E. Osceola yesterday from 112, but turned around due to significant ice. He had crampons but no ax.
Again, just beautiful trails. Thank you, White Mountains. We will be back!
