Beautiful day out in the woods with Grumpy Gran, Silverfox, Finn and Terra the traildogs.
All trails in excellent shape from Ferncroft to Sabbaday Brook --
Dicey's Mill, Rollins, Kate Sleeper, South Slide, Tripyramid Loop, Sabbaday Brook Trails all fine.
Some larger crossings on Sabbaday Brook Tr took care.
Looks to be a new landslide on Sabbaday Brook Tr, near riverbank, recently cleared trees with loose rock and soil upslope.
Didn't see a soul after we left Ferncroft until about 1/4 mile from Sabbaday Falls.
Peaks bagged: Whiteface, East Sleeper, West Sleeper, S M and N Tripyramid
Distance ~ 15 miles
Total Trailtime 9.5 hours
Gain ??
A great day to be out in the woods -- the foliage is a bit beyond its peak but the hues range from muted mustards to vibrant oranges and brilliant reds - against the backdrop of thick, dark spruce it made for a glorious hike. Happy to say that we traversed the Sandwich Wilderness today - fun for Silverfox to sign out at Sabbaday that we started our hike in Ferncroft.
Happy Trails,
Sabrina
